Ornamental turned Box of Cocobola

Ornamental turned Box(Cocobola/ebony)
Size: height 4 7/8" diam. 1 3/4"Lid height 1 3/8"
for the design of the box -- I used 3 different cutting procedure. The outside of the main box are two sine waves where one of the waves is cut in reverse order. On the lid I used the same procedure just on a different scale. The top of the lid are interlocking circles perfectly arranged. (third picture). The insde of the lid were cut with ovals arrange in start pattern and this pattern repeats on the bottom of the box. The ebony of the lids has some interesting brown streaks. To cut a sine wave requires some math. work to have the waves perfectly arranged around the box.
The top of the lid has a more extensive design -- 3 ovals arranged in star formation are surrounded but 3 larger ovals --- the inside ovals I did cut by purpose a little more shallow which I think makes a bit more elegant.
I think the sine wave on a wood like cocobola which has a distinct grain pattern is probably a good choice since the viewer can see the cut pattern and the strong grain pattern of the wood.
