Just from turning point of view -- it is for sure a challenge to turn --- one has to bring a good amount of time - and very sharp tool. The bowl has to be turned very carefully. A little to heavy cut might make the bowl fly of lathe which is very "unfriendly' -- the shaving during turning are very fine. II like to turn it... it just takes time
you can trow keys - coins or jewelry into the bowl you will never see a scratch. The wood basically does not need any finish since it has a high level of natural oil. What you see -- is the bowl the way it came of the lathe.
The color is just the beautiful golden type color.
