A very lovely small redwood burl bowl. An interesting burl pattern shows in the bowl. The color of a burl will always vary - if you consider that a redwood burl grows over several hundred years where the environment certainly changes a lot from dry to wet period - forest fire a.s.o.
The color of this piece is a little lighter --- and I know when I cut the burl with the chainsaw I could see there are big differences from piece to piece.
